Growing up in Southern California, Dr. Davis played soccer beginning at four years old. He was involved in AYSO as a developing player and played for youth clubs like the Corinthians Football Club in Southern California (playing for coaches like Carlos Juarez), and North Huntington Beach (Black) (playing for Cameron Beaulac). He was involved in the Southern California Olympic Development program, playing for coaches like George Kuntz, and in college played for Dave Wolf at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. During his recruitment to Westmont College, Dr. Davis tore his left ACL in the youth National Cup tournament and subsequently had three knee surgeries over two years ending his playing career. This physical setback started his love for the psychology of the game. He also began coaching at the age of 15 and has coached youth to the collegiate level, assisting Matthew Thorne at the University of West Alabama for a year. Dr. Davis has a great interest in the psychological side of the game and how that plays into preparation and fitness.
